While
studying as a Dance major in undergraduate, Dawn found
her first yoga class and was immediately enthralled.
It was a perfect way to balance her mind, body and spirit
from grueling rehearsals, study and stress. She found
her physical and mental release and inner peace for
what felt like for the very first time. It became a
personal practice for the next 15 years. Dawn went on
to complete her undergraduate in Dance before going
on for her Masters in Dance Movement Therapy and become
Board Certified, as well as, a Professional and National
Counselor. She continued to explore many styles of yoga
and has been drawn to Hatha and Flow specifically. 4
years ago she became certified in children’s yoga
in Chicago and then completed her adult training here
in Pittsburgh. Dawn is the director of our “Movement
Adventures: Yoga and Creative Movement Fusion”
here at the studio while simultaneously running a private
practice as a Dance Movement Therapist and adjunct in
Creativity at Seton Hill University.
Dawn has a lifelong passion with the mind/body/spirit
connection and the power of yoga to bring wholeness,
healing, and prevention to all individuals. She is drawn
to the yogic philosophy and attempts to live her life
accordingly. She looks forward to growing as a teacher
and a student of yoga for many decades to come!
